About This Kaupapa
Get your creative on! Repurpose your koti and weave your story through your own creative style with Tuihana.
This workshop is all about transformation — taking a once-loved garment and giving it new life, energy, and meaning.
Try reshaping a collar for a new neckline, cropping or detaching sleeves for a vest-style look, or swapping out buttons for something bold and unique. Add your own flair with fabric paint, hand-stitched motifs, ribbon, lace, or patches that reflect your whakapapa and personality.
Every cut, stitch, and brushstroke becomes a piece of creative rongoā — a moment of reconnection to your creativity, confidence, and self-expression.
Tuihana is a member of Whare Hau Tutū and a loud proud advocate for sustainable kakahu and how it makes one feel. She has gracefully offered this workshop to our community.
