About This Kaupapa
Join Piki for Sip & Tie, part of the Whare Hau Tutū Sustainability Series, a creative workshop series focused on reuse, upcycling, and making beautiful things from what already exists.
In this hands-on session, old ties become wearable statement pieces. Bring your own special tie or choose from Pikis stash. Raid your jewellery boxes or draws, for any little treasures you want to add ie. necklace, ribbon, brooch, mis- matched earrings, badges, patches, pins. We’ll also have some extra bling to play with as well as pins, rubber bands, hot glue guns, needles and thread to create your masterpiece.
There’ll be mimosas and nibbles to keep things relaxed, social, and a little bit fancy, because sustainable making does not need to be dull.
This workshop is about creativity, kaitiakitanga, and seeing the potential in things that might otherwise be forgotten. Less waste, more imagination, and a decent amount of fabulous chaos.
