About This Kaupapa
Tukutuku o te Wā: Weaving Aspirations is a contemporary tukutuku wānanga for adults, grounded in the Matariki themes of remembrance, resilience, and hope for the coming year.
You will create individual tukutuku-inspired panels using pattern, colour, rhythm, and visual storytelling to reflect what they are carrying forward.
This wānanga honours the practice while allowing space for contemporary interpretation. It encourages collective making, shared kōrero, and the creation of strong visual outcomes that may contribute to a wider Matariki showcase or activation.
No prior experience is needed. Participants will be supported through the process.
All materials are provided.
